My work sits at the intersection of physical craft and digital media, combining analog image-making processes like cyanotype and printmaking with digital design techniques including projection and interactive media. Materiality is central to my practice, and I am drawn to multimedia forms that preserve traces of the handmade within technological systems. For this reason, I’ve loved working with textiles, found materials, and scanned textures to create experiences that feel intimate, imperfect, and deeply human.
Conceptually, my practice centers on memory and collective experience, and I am particularly interested in the emotional lives of spaces and objects. Through an ethnographic and research-based approach that often incorporates interviews and archival storytelling, I investigate the ways in which memory becomes embodied in our physical world, and the pieces of ourselves we leave behind in the places we inhabit. Much of my work centers on acts of noticing, asking how we might become more attentive to the lives of strangers, and how technology might help facilitate intimacy rather than distance.
Rooted in a background spanning interactive media, graphic design and printmaking, my visual approach embraces collage, layering, and maximalist composition as a way of reflecting the complexity of the human experience and methods for holding multiple histories and emotions simultaneously.
